Oumnia
The Oumnia is a slim 2-way floor stander, which can be placed into the
room or placed near a wall. It is suitable for rooms of any size and is
very versatile in regard to compatibility with electronics.
Sound quality:
The image is airy and free from coloration. The highs are clear and
smooth and in the midrange vocals rich in tonal colors and modulations.
Even with sub-optimal program material the loudspeaker never shows an
aggressive or overly present effect. Bass reproduction is warm and yet
clear and dry. The Oumnia plays very well at high-class integrated tube
or solid-state amplifiers and due to its high sensitivity it does not
require much power.
Tweeter:
The tweeter is a silk dome. Made to high tolerances it brings excellent
linearity, low-distortion and high reliability.
Low/mid driver:
The low/mid driver chassis has been optimized for outstanding dynamic
resolution, which we refer to as definition. The results of our efforts
are greatly reduced distortion figures and a higher overall sound
pressure level. The cone material is an acoustically optimized plastic
compound with an ideal geometry. Its advantages are low resonances and
a good-natured frequency response allowing for a relatively simple
crossover design. This in turn benefits the sonic transparency.
Cabinet:
For the cabinet we use HDF. The slim cabinet is especially low resonant
and produces only minor diffraction effects. Despite its attractive
price, the cabinet boasts a real wood veneer.
Frequency crossover:
The crossover network has been laid out as a transitional filter. The
filter is symmetrical, starting off with a steepness of 12dB which goes
further up to 24dB for a very linear transition.
